Donald Flooring Contract Sales has been one of the leaders in the commercial flooring industry for over 35 years. We use our own installers. Our floor layers are Union and among the most qualified commercial installers in the lower mainland. Donald Flooring has a solid reputation in the commercial flooring sector.  Our company is known for providing our clients with top-quality installations at reasonable rates.  We offer an honest and straight forward approach to pricing.  We always provide prompt and quality installations.

Manufacturers know our installers are properly trained and we always install their commercial flooring within their specific guidelines that best complement their products.

Team

John Gillard

Owner/Sales/Project Manager

John has been at Donald Floors since 2015.  Born in NY, he moved to Canada when he was a young boy.  In preparation to buy the business, he has worked in almost every position in the company.  John started with us in the warehouse, he has driven the truck, demoed floors, done take offs, estimator and dispatcher. John does not believe in shortcuts.  He strongly believes in doing things the right way- the first time.  John has a BBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership.  His work ethic, straightforward, honest & easy going demeaner have prepared him for his new role as Donald Floors-Owner/Sales/Project Manager.  In John’s spare time you will find him spending time with his family.

Rob Kelso

Sales/Project Manager

Rob has 15 years experience installing various types of flooring in a variety of local projects including casinos, hospitals, schools, residential towers, and government buildings. He is Red Seal certified and finished at the top of his class in all 3 years of his apprenticeship.  Rob additionally has certifications from Nora, & INSTALL carpet, resilient and self levelling.

Rob joined Donald Floors in 2016.  He is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of commercial flooring, including the Health & Safety aspect.  Rob’s varied experience and product knowledge made him the ideal candidate for his position of Sales & Project Management.

Rob brings endless enthusiasm and care to his job. Rob is great at thinking outside the box and is constantly striving for the best.  His energy is contagious, and he brings that same level of energy to every job he is awarded. 

Byron Ruiz Ramirez

Sales/Project Manager

Byron moved from Central America at a very early age and grew up in B.C. He became a Red Seal Certified Installer, with additional certifications in self leveling, and modular tile installation.

Byron started with Donald Floors in 2016 as an installer.  He worked hard to master his craft and is known for his meticulous installations.  Quality installations are Byron’s top priority. Byron moves seamlessly through our company to help wherever is necessary.  His “can do” attitude has made him an invaluable member of our team.  A member of our Health & Safety Committee, he helps to insure our employees are following the guidelines to keep them safe.  Byron’s calming influence & humor is essential when dealing with the constant changes, deadlines and labour shortages in our industry. His varied experience in commercial flooring is extremely valuable.  An accomplished musician, in Byron’s downtime you will find him camping or volunteering music lessons for children.

Steve Stefanyk

Sales/Project Manager

Steve joined us at Donald Floors in February 2019.  He has worked in the Commercial Flooring industry for 25 years.  Steve is red seal certified and was an installer for 15 years.  He made the jump to Sales & Project management in 2011.

His wealth of knowledge and commitment to customer service has made him a huge asset to Donald Floors, as well as his customers.

Steve is straightforward and will always give you the honest answer, even at the risk of not getting the job.  He works tirelessly to make sure that his jobs are well organized, and his clients get the quality installation they envisioned. Steve’s commitment to customer service is by far one of his best qualities.   When Steve is not working, you can often find him at the nearest fishing hole (that does not have cell coverage).

Interns

We start them young here.  Our interns have very few years of experience, but it does not stop them from helping and making sure their parents do the best job possible.  Flooring is in their jeans/genes.
